About this project
Overall objective: “Supporting children and families affected by parental migration by strengthening care systems, emotional wellbeing, and access to social services.”
There are 3 specific objectives:
1. Strengthen the capacity of grassroots organisations to provide specialized support services for migrant care workers, women and children in precarious situations.
2. Enhance CSOs’ skills to promote the value of care work in local communities affected by migration/global care chains. Foster collaboration and coordinated action between CSOs, government bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure sustainable support systems.
3. Establishment of funding mechanism to implement grass roots project for supporting migrants care work in local communities.
The project mainly focuses on enhancing operational capabilities of local grass roots organizations’ to effectively support migrant families, especially mothers and their children living in precarious situations.
More than 50 participants from local community members to be supported for care economy and at least 15 grassroots and local community groups that are already working with vulnerable communities in precarious situation to raise the capacities in organizational development and for care economy services, out of which 4-5 of them will be able to get further funding to support the protection and empowerment for migrants and children in precarious situations.
